劇情：曼莫（路易斯•費爾南多•佩納 Luis Fernando Peña 飾）與父母生活在墨西哥小鎮桑塔安那，靠務農為生。德里奧水公司在附近河流建壩攔水，至使整個地區嚴重缺水。高昂的水價致使走投無路的農民去壩上偷水。德里奧水公司在美國境內的總部則僱傭飛行員魯迪（雅各布•維加斯 Jacob Vargas 飾）通過精神連線遙控操作無人轟炸機打擊“恐怖分子”保護水壩，炸燬了曼莫的住所，曼莫的父親被當場殺死。悲傷的曼莫離開家鄉來到美墨邊境城市蒂華納找工作，遇見女作家魯茲（萊諾•維埃拉 Lennor Varela 飾）。魯茲幫曼莫裝上“結點”，從此曼莫進入工廠精神連線遙控操縱美國各地的機器人從事繁重的體力勞動。魯茲為了持續出售曼莫的故事，與他的接觸逐步加深，二人終於相愛。但網絡另一邊購買曼莫故事的人竟是魯迪……
